(Towards our well-off life) Visiting the "Mountain Bay Dream Valley" in Dangchang, Gansu: the former cliff and poverty-stricken village has become a Tibetan and Qiang resort

China News Service, Longnan, Gansu, September 4 (Reporter Feng Zhijun and Li Yalong) In the deep mountains in the southern part of Dangchang County, Longnan City, Gansu, two villages close to the cliffs are in poverty due to long-term "isolation" and shortage of arable land. Restriction, and "the hope of getting rid of poverty is slim."

Three years ago, local officials carried out relocation of the two villages for poverty alleviation, and developed rural complexes based on Tibetan and Qiang characteristic buildings, hoping to promote poverty alleviation through the cultural tourism industry.

Shanbei and Luowan Village were once one of the poorest places in Dangchang County.

"The mountain is a stone mountain, inserted in the cloud; the field is a lying cow field, hung on the tip of the mountain." This is a true portrayal of the two villages.

"The dilapidated and dilapidated poor village in the eyes of villagers is a paradise in the eyes of outsiders." This pastoral complex called "Shanwan Dream Valley" is located in Lianghekou Town, south of Dangchang, 38 kilometers away from Dangchang County. Hekou Town is about 11 kilometers away.

In early September, a reporter from Chinanews.com visited this "cliff village" hidden in the mountains. The car climbed up the steep concrete road of the "eighteen bends of the mountain road", and there were signs of collapse caused by continuous rain damage not long ago. The seemingly short distance from the foot of the mountain takes more than half an hour by car.

After arriving at the mountainside parking lot, you climbed up the steps along the plank road paved by the wood removed from the dilapidated house. The architectural complex of ancient Tibetan and Qiang elements combined with modern fashion design is fascinating.

“Hidden in deep boudoirs for a long time is one of the root causes of poverty, but it also retains a lot of original scenery and traditional architectural styles.” Zhang Jun, the project leader of the pastoral complex, told a reporter from China News about the old buildings in the village. In the short period of several decades, and the long period of hundreds of years, they kept the exterior of these characteristic buildings intact, refurbished the interior, and developed characteristic villages and hotels. "Although they have not officially opened to the outside world, they are attracted by tourists. An endless stream".

Zhang Jun said that in the future, the project will not only use cultural tourism projects to attract tourists to experience the natural scenery and rural culture that are difficult to find in the city, but also work on poverty alleviation and development benefits.

Through the development of the original farmer’s land, it will obtain land transfer funds. At the same time, it will also provide jobs for local villagers, so that some villagers who are "difficult to leave their homeland" can obtain employment opportunities at their doorsteps.

It is understood that the "Shanwan Dream Valley" project with a planned area of about 3551 mu includes soil modification of farmland, woodland, flower and fruit forest, etc., vegetation cultivation, new landscape art gardens, landscape flower seas, economic background forests, and organic fruits and vegetables. Park; build landscape culture and art street, scenic roads, scenic entrances and exits, viewing platforms, Tibetan and Qiang characteristic architectural facilities and landscape sketches; transform residents and the internal environment of the park; purchase sightseeing cars, etc.

Zhang Jun said that the "Mountain Bay Dream Valley" project does not rely entirely on purchasing materials from outside sources, but makes full use of land resources to develop greenhouses and other industrial developments. Not only can the supply of vegetables be self-sufficient, but also to achieve a steady stream of external sources. Export green and pollution-free specialty agricultural products.

According to the preliminary investigation, the local area is very suitable for planting high-quality peppers, peppers and other crops. The next step will be to build agricultural brands and explore deep processing.

Gao Quan, who was nearly 60 years old, continued to stay in the village to work because he was "reluctant to leave the place where he was born."

He said that three years ago, the village was in a semi-enclosed state of self-sufficiency. Everyone was living a "full stomach" life by growing vegetables in the ground. At that time, it took an hour and a half to get out of the village. Where a part-time job opportunity has to go a long way, now there are also working conditions on the mountain, making it easier to earn money than before.

"At present, about one-third of the villagers still stay here to work." Gao Quan said that although moving from the mountains to near the county seat has made life more and more convenient, it is still for the villagers who have lived here for a lifetime. There are "many unaccustomed", but for their next generation, this is the best choice. Young people are happy to work and live close to the city.

The dilapidated villages that the villagers all wanted to escape before have been upgraded and transformed, attracting batches of tourists one after another, which has mixed feelings among high powers.

He is not only happy that his hometown has such an unexpected charm, but also lamented how he will miss his hometown in the future for a new life in another place.
