Mercedes S-Class -

DR

You will recognize the 7th generation of Mercedes S-Class by its large grille on which sits a radar (it is necessary to operate the many driving aids ...), its front lights with more modern shapes and above all, the rear lights extended horizontally , like those of the E-Class. In its short version, it gained 54 mm (5,179 mm), while the long version gained 34 (5,289).

The optional rear steering wheels will improve handling, both at low speed and in fast curves.

Tesla way

In recent years, Mercedes had stood out with its gigantic double screen (the central multimedia screen appeared in the continuity of the dashboard) which extended over almost the entire dashboard.

This time, for the S-Class, the firm with the star is making a radical change.

The central screen is positioned lower and turns into a huge tablet, a bit like Tesla.

Everything will therefore be controlled at your fingertips.

The driver will benefit from - among other options of course - a 3D display with content in augmented reality.

Classics, then hybrids

In the launch phase, expected in the coming weeks, the new S-Class will first be offered with 6-cylinder in-line petrol (S450 367hp and S500 435hp) and diesel (S350d 286hp and S400d 330hp).

A 48 V mild hybrid V8 engine will be available soon after, and it will be necessary to wait until 2021, to see the arrival of a plug-in hybrid model with an electric range of nearly 100 kilometers.
