Dubai Chamber Exports to Africa are recovering and reaching pre-Corona levels

A recent analysis of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry revealed the recovery of exports and re-exports of its members to the African continent in June 2020 and their return to their previous levels in the pre-spread of Covid-19, with a total value of 2.94 billion dirhams, and a growth of 20% compared to its value in May 2020.



The Chamber’s analysis showed that two-thirds of the Chamber’s members ’exports and re-exports to Africa during the month of June were to North Africa, with a value of about 2.05 billion dirhams, due to the geographical proximity. These markets have strong historical, commercial and cultural links with Dubai. Chamber members' exports to sub-Saharan Africa are about 883 million dirhams, which raises the total value of exports and re-exports of members to all markets of the African continent in June to 2.9 billion dirhams.



The Chamber's analysis pointed out that the declared value of the certificates of origin issued by the Chamber returned to the same monthly average that it witnessed during the period from January to March 2020 before the new Corona epidemic, as the Chamber shed light in its analysis on the best performing markets in sub-Saharan African regions, reviewing the components of exports To the largest markets in each region, using the monthly data taken from the database of certificates of origin issued by the Dubai Chamber.
