On August 31, Chinanews, the Ministry of Electric Industry and Information Technology announced today on its official website the fourth batch of apps that violate user rights and interests in 2020. Some mobile application distribution platforms, such as App Store, Pea Pod, and Xiaomi App Store, are not responsible for the management of some mobile application distribution platforms. They have not strictly checked and checked the apps on the shelves, and many problems have been detected.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently organized a third-party testing agency to inspect mobile phone applications and urge companies with problems to make rectifications. Up to now, there are still 101 APPs that have not been rectified. The above APP should complete the rectification and implementation work before September 7. If the rectification is not completed within the time limit, the relevant disposal work will be organized in accordance with the law and regulations.
According to reports, during this inspection, some mobile application distribution platforms such as App Store, Pea Pod, Xiaomi App Store, and other mobile application distribution platforms were not responsible for the management of the mobile application. The review of the APPs on the shelves was not strict, the inspection found many problems, and the industry and informatization were not strictly implemented. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s “Interim Provisions on the Management of Pre-installation and Distribution of Application Software for Mobile Smart Terminals” (Industry and Information Technology Department (2016) No. 407) requires that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) subsequently severely deal with enterprises with prominent problems, improper orders, and incomplete rectification.
