GTA dnata, the joint venture of dnata in Canada, obtained a five-year license to engage in ground handling activities in Canada.

According to a statement issued yesterday, the company will start its operations at Vancouver International Airport during the last quarter of this year, as it will provide air carriers operating at the airport with high-quality and safe services for aircraft parking, passengers and cargo operations.

"GTA dnata" operates in Toronto as a reliable partner for 17 air carriers. During the past year, it provided services to more than 1.2 million passengers and handled 90,000 tons of cargo at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

"We are delighted to expand our network and launch our operations in Vancouver. It is time to take this step, because our commitment to safety, quality and service excellence is more important than ever," said Mario de Orso, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GTA Dnata.

Dnata entered the Canadian aviation market in 2016, with the establishment of GTA dnata, by acquiring a 50% stake in GTA Aviation's cargo and ground handling operations at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

The company has, since then, continued to invest in developing its team, infrastructure and equipment, and today it provides reliable air services with its 700 employees.

During the fiscal year 2019-2020, dnata's specialized teams dealt with 681,000 aircraft and 2.9 million tons of cargo, and loaded more than 93 million meals on the aircraft.
