The arrival of the 2nd member of the ID family is imminent! This time, it will be an SUV, offered in 2 and 4 wheel drive: the ID.4. Pre-production models have already been assembled in China (where it will also be sold) but production has started in Zwickau, Germany, where the ID.3 sedan also comes to life.
The 2 models have one very particular point in common: upon delivery to the customer, they will be issued with a “carbon neutral” certificate which means in particular that they have been produced with green electricity. The extraction of rare materials for batteries remains problematic, but the UN and manufacturers are making more and more efforts in this area.
VW announces that in 2021, 300,000 vehicles will leave Zwickau, making this factory specializing in electric vehicles the most efficient in Europe.
The maximum range of the ID.4 will be around 500 km (550 for the ID.3). The presentation will take place at the end of September and according to our information, the marketing should take place in early 2021.
