These tensions come as Abu Dhabi announced the normalization of its relations with Israel, sworn enemy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Tehran indeed supports Palestinian Islamist groups and Lebanese Hezbollah and does not recognize the existence of Israel.

The Emirates decision has been denounced as a strategic error and a betrayal. Tehran has also warned the Emirates of an Israeli presence on its border. The seizure of the Emirati boat, which took place on August 17, was only announced this Thursday.

Two new cruise missiles

Iran announced that an investigation was underway into "  the shooting of Emirati Coast Guard boats on Monday against several Iranian fishing boats (...) , which resulted in the death of two fishermen  ". The UAE's charge d'affaires was summoned to the Foreign Ministry.

At the same time, as tension escalated in the Persian Gulf, Iran introduced two new cruise missiles with a range of 1,000 and 1,400 kilometers. These new missiles complete the panoply of Iranian missiles as the United States, supported by the Arab monarchies of the Persian Gulf, in particular the United Arab Emirates, tries to reimpose the UN sanctions against Iran.
