Machinery orders in June decreased for the first time in 2 months. Downward revision of keynote judgment Cabinet Office August 19 11:49

By showing the outlook for corporate capital investment, orders received from major machinery manufacturers in June fell 7.6% from the previous month, decreasing for the first time in two months. It seems that companies are becoming more cautious due to the effects of the new coronavirus, and the Cabinet Office revised the keynote judgment downward to "decreasing".

According to the Cabinet Office, the amount of orders received by major machinery manufacturers from domestic companies in June this year was 706.6 billion yen, excluding volatile ships and electricity.

This was 7.6% lower than the previous month and decreased for the first time in 2 months.

The non-manufacturing industry fell 10.4%, and orders from the “transportation/postal industry” and the “finance/insurance industry” fell sharply.

On the other hand, the manufacturing industry increased by 5.6%, mainly in the “textile industry” and “transportation machinery”.

Orders for the three months from July to September are also projected to decline by 1.9% compared to the previous three months.

With the influence of the new coronavirus continuing, it seems that companies are strengthening their cautious attitude, and the Cabinet Office revised downward from "weakening" the keynote judgment regarding machine orders to "decreasing" ..
