  As of the close, the Dow closed down 86.11 points, or 0.31%, to 27844.91 points; the Nasdaq closed up 110.43 points, or 1.00%, to 11129.73 points; the S&P 500 index closed up 9.14 points, or 0.27%, to 3,381.99 points.

  In terms of major US technology stocks, Apple fell 0.26%, Amazon rose 1.09%, Netflix fell 0.07%, Google rose 0.77%, Facebook fell 0.03%, and Microsoft rose 0.66%.

  US financial stocks fell across the board. JPMorgan Chase fell 2.63%, Goldman Sachs fell 2.36%, Citigroup fell 2.8%, Morgan Stanley fell 1.95%, Bank of America fell 2.15%, Wells Fargo fell 3.28%, Berkshire Hathaway fell 1.81%.

  American Airlines stocks fell across the board, Boeing fell 3.4%, American Airlines fell 5.33%, Delta Airlines fell 3.18%, Southwest Airlines fell 3.12%, and United Airlines fell 4.92%.

  In terms of US energy stocks, Exxon Mobil fell 1.25%, Chevron rose 0.39%, ConocoPhillips fell 0.29%, Schlumberger fell 0.3%, and Occidental Petroleum fell 4.95%.

  Most popular Chinese concept stocks closed up. Alibaba rose 1.18%, JD.com rose 7.93%, Baidu rose 6.15%; Ruisi English rose 47.96%, Shell rose 16.48%, Litchi rose 13.56%, Dada Group rose 8.91%, Finance OneConnect rose 8.99%, Weilai Automobile rose 7.21%, Pinduoduo rose 4.87%; Blue Hat fell 18.94%, still up 9.76%, Ruhan fell 9.71%.

  In terms of individual stocks, Tesla's stock price rose more than 11%, a record closing high, with a market value of more than $340 billion.

  In European stock markets, the three major European stock indexes rose across the board that day. The London Stock Market "Financial Times" average price index of 100 stocks on the 17th closed at 6127.44 points, an increase of 0.61%; the French Paris stock market CAC40 index closed at 4,971.94 points, an increase of 0.18%; Germany's Frankfurt stock market DAX index closed at 12920.66 Points, an increase of 0.15%.

  In terms of international oil prices, New York oil prices rose on the 17th, and the price of New York light crude oil futures for delivery in September rose 88 cents to close at $42.89 per barrel.
