Ostapkovich noted that if a customer replenishes a bank card in a store, and then makes a purchase, this, in his opinion, will create transparency in trade calculations.

“That is, if money passes through the card, it will always be transparent. If payment is made through cash, then there are many examples and possibilities of how this cash can be hidden through the cashier. These are already fraudulent transactions, they are very rare, but, unfortunately, they do happen, ”the expert explained.

The analyst also added that replenishment of bank cards at the cash desks of stores can be called a global trend.

“In many countries, such operations have been done for a long time. But we need to see how this action goes. There is one more problem: in order for the trade to supply these devices, they must incur some costs - the repair of these devices, and replacement, and some kind of acquiring things. We need to see the effect, ”added Ostapkovich.

The expert also reminded that the banking system should be engaged in such operations at the legislative level.

Earlier, the Izvestia newspaper reported that the Russians will be able to replenish bank cards at the cash desks of stores, a corresponding pilot project will be launched by Promsvyazbank in the coming months.

The article says that Ak Bars Bank, DOM.RF and the Crimean RNKB are also considering the possibility of participating in the project, but the terms have not yet been set.
