The government is showing its support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It must be said that they really need it when they are hit hard by the economic crisis resulting from the coronavirus pandemic. The revival plan for the French economy will thus include three billion euros for “support for the financing of businesses,” Bruno Le Maire announced on Wednesday in an interview with Sud Ouest .

"Debt is a major subject"

“Many SMEs were in good financial health before the crisis and will have the resources to repay their loans. But for some, debt is a major subject that we want to tackle head-on, ”explained the Minister of the Economy. These companies, in order to have the necessary equity, will benefit from various instruments: "either convertible bonds or participating loans".

The 100 billion euro stimulus package is due on August 25. Prime Minister Jean Castex has already outlined some of this, with 30 billion arrows on ecological transition, part of which overlaps with 40 billion euros devoted to industry. This plan, which will be backed by the state budget for 2021, also includes a “skills” section and a “solidarity” section, for 20 billion each. About 40 billion euros of the 100 billion should come from 390 billion euros in subsidies from the European recovery plan.
