The general annual index of consumer prices in Dubai decreased by 3.12% last July, compared to the same month of 2019.

A report issued by the Dubai Statistics Center, yesterday, stated that this came as a result of the decrease in the prices of each of: the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel section by 5.41%, which reduced inflation by 2.23 points, in addition to the decline in the transportation section prices by 10.69%, which reduced inflation by 10.69%. 1.20 points, in addition to the drop in the prices of the entertainment and culture section by 13.62%, which reduced inflation by 0.29 points, in addition to the decrease in the prices of the clothing and footwear section by 1.42%, which reduced inflation by 0.03 points, and the communications section by 0.03%.

On the other hand, the report added, the index rose for each of: the food and beverage division by 2.5%, which pushed inflation by 0.33 points, the education section by 1.87%, which pushed inflation by 0.17 points, and the tobacco section by 15.96%, which pushed inflation by 0.09 points. And the miscellaneous goods and services division by 0.61%, which pushed inflation by 0.04 points, and the furniture, furnishing, household appliances and repair division by 0.16%, which pushed inflation by 0.01 points, and the health department by 0.06%, while the prices of the restaurants and hotels section stabilized at their previous levels during a period Comparison.

In addition, the general monthly consumer price index decreased in July 2020 compared to June 2020, by 0.11%, due to the decrease in the prices of each of: housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.28%, which reduced inflation by 0.11 points, and the food and beverage section by 0.11%. 0.50%, which lowered inflation by 0.07 points.

On the other hand, the prices of each of the sectors rose by 0.82%, which pushed inflation by 0.08 points, and the miscellaneous goods and services division by 0.28%, which pushed inflation by 0.02 points, and the health department by 0.04%.

- The food and beverage division price index rose 2.5%.
