Ali Ahmed Al-Naqbi, Chairman and CEO of the Federation of Business and Private Aviation in the Middle East and North Africa, said that preparations are underway to organize an exhibition of business and private jets in Dubai during the period between the eighth and the 10th of next December in the «Dubai World Central », indicating that more than 30 modern business aircraft and 400 companies will participate in the exhibition over the course of three days.

Al-Naqbi stressed that the health and safety of the exhibitors, work teams and attendees will be the top priority of MEPA during the exhibition, as the Federation will take all appropriate precautionary measures to ensure their safety and security, with the continuation of the current situation in light of the spread of the "Covid-19" epidemic.

He mentioned that the private aviation sector, similar to the commercial one, was affected by the global closure of markets due to the pandemic, but the recovery is good now, with the sector attracting new customers who prefer to use private aviation under the current circumstances, in addition to the fact that the commercial sector has not resumed its services to all destinations, and thus it is Private aviation is the only option, pointing out that «there is a new segment of dealers who prefer to pay for private flying».

Al-Naqbi stated that the rate of reservations is constantly growing to various markets at a time when all ground handling companies have resumed their work, indicating that reaching normal growth levels is linked to opening markets and easing travel restrictions.

Huge opportunities

Al-Naqbi said that the 2020 edition of the special aviation exhibition will focus on the tremendous opportunities offered by the business aviation and private aviation sectors, and the event will also review the latest trends in the sector this year, along with expectations for 2021 and the future of the sector in the coming years.

He pointed out that by 2037, the Middle East and Asia Pacific region will top the list of the fastest growing markets, with an annual growth rate of 5.7% for passenger kilometers, adding: “Through this exhibition, we look to highlight the opportunities and welcome delegations, visitors and partners to Dubai. one more time".

Al-Naqbi expected that more than 7,000 new aircraft will enter the private aviation sector at the global level in 2037, with 10% of them having headquarters in the Middle East and North Africa, indicating that 682 aircraft are currently operating in the region.
