  As of the close, the Dow rose by 164.07 points, or 0.62%, to 26828.47; the Nasdaq rose 38.37 points, or 0.35%, to 10941.17; the S&P 500 index rose 11.90 points, or 0.36%, to 3,306.51 points.

  Large American technology stocks were mixed. Apple rose 0.67%, Amazon rose 0.87%, Netflix rose 2.21%, Google fell 0.64%, Facebook fell 0.85%, and Microsoft fell 1.5%.

  US energy stocks collectively rose, Exxon Mobil rose 2.91%, Chevron rose 1.98%, ConocoPhillips rose 2.53%, Schlumberger rose 2.72%, and EOG Energy rose 4.53%.

  Popular Chinese concept stocks rose and fell mixed. Alibaba rose 1.65%, JD.com rose 0.06%, Baidu rose 5.08%; Weimei Hologram rose 16.41%, Tuniu rose 15.09%, 360 Finance rose 8.57%, Weibo rose 1.78%; Aihongsen fell 37.35%, Moxian fell 25.17%, Xunlei fell 10.96%, and Pinduoduo fell 2.09%.

  On the news, on Tuesday, Democratic and Republican members of the US Congress continued to negotiate the next round of fiscal stimulus in Washington. Previous talks have made "some" progress, although there are still huge differences between Republicans and Democrats.

  In European stock markets, the three major European stock indexes were mixed. The London Stock Market "Financial Times" average price index of 100 stocks closed at 6036.00 points on the 4th, up 3.15 points or 0.05% from the previous trading day. The CAC40 index of the French Paris stock market closed at 4,889.52 points on the 4th, up 13.59 points or 0.28% from the previous trading day. The DAX index of the Frankfurt stock market in Germany fell 46.11 points on the 4th, or 0.36%, to close at 12,600.87 points.

  International oil prices closed higher on Tuesday. The price of West Texas Intermediate Crude Oil (WTI) for September delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose 0.69 US dollars, or 1.7%, to close at 41.70 US dollars per barrel. The price of Brent crude oil futures for October delivery on the London Intercontinental Exchange rose 0.28 US dollars, or 0.6%, to close at 44.43 US dollars per barrel.

  In terms of international gold prices, the most active December gold futures price on the New York Mercantile Exchange gold futures market rose by 34.7 US dollars over the previous trading day on the 4th, closing at US$ 2021 per ounce, an increase of 1.75%. This is the first time in the history of gold futures prices to close above $2,000 per ounce. The spot gold price also broke through the 2,000 U.S. dollar mark and set a new record high. As of press time, it reported an increase of 1.94% per ounce in 2015. The increase was once expanded to 2%.
