The figures continue to fall to show the impact of the coronavirus on the French economy. This time the Urssaf gave indications on Tuesday on the large number of companies which had to use the safety net offered by the state. Thus, deferrals of social contributions granted since the start of the health crisis amount to 21.1 billion euros. In total, more than two million self-employed workers benefited from it for 6.9 billion euros, as well as 700,000 companies for a cumulative amount of 14.2 billion euros.

Resumption in September for the self-employed

“Since July, employers have to pay current social contributions. However, they can ask to defer their employer contributions in the event of difficulty, ”recalled the fund, adding that for self-employed workers,“ normal recovery resumes in September ”. SMEs and VSEs will be able to spread the reimbursement of the deferral of charges from which they benefited during the crisis up to 36 months, according to a measure adopted in the framework of the third amending finance law for 2020 voted in July. The duration of the spread "will depend on the situation of the company and will be discussed between Acoss (national fund of Urssaf) and companies", Bercy said.

Self-employed workers will receive for their part in August "a schedule based on a 2020 provisional income reduced by 50% by the Urssaf, in order to postpone until the second half of 2021 the payment of contributions postponed during the crisis", according to the fund. . But this schedule will be adjustable for those who wish "in order to limit the extent of the regularization in 2021". Finally, "debt relief may be granted to the most troubled companies, when they do not benefit from exemptions and payment assistance".
