  On July 12 this year, the Wuhan police issued a message stating that they are currently handling a case of using WeChat rental to implement online fraud. The police believe that the high school student who rented out the WeChat account in the case is an accomplice of fraud and is currently under further investigation.

Students strayed into the WeChat rental trap and their account was blocked

  A reporter from the Beijing News found that many students have the same experience as Zhang Lei.

  Xiaoli (pseudonym) is a senior high school student, according to her introduction, as early as 3 years ago, she saw part-time advertisements for renting WeChat.

  "It was the WeChat that my classmates rented out first, so I joined together." Xiaoli mentioned that the other party also promised before renting out that it was only used to publish voting information and would not do illegal things.

  When the one-day rental period ended, Xiaoli received a rent of 30 yuan, and when she logged in to WeChat again, she found that her WeChat avatar had been replaced with a picture of an online beauty, but she could still use it normally. A few days later, she discovered that WeChat was banned. After asking her classmates, she learned that other students who rented out WeChat had encountered the same situation before, but they all continued to rent after they were unblocked by friends.

  Through this netizen, a reporter from the Beijing News contacted its online. The other party claimed to be the boss of the WeChat business. "These people who post part-time information in the group are my agents, and most of them are students. The agent recruits 50 people every time. , You can earn nearly 1,000 yuan in remuneration."

  The "boss" revealed that most of the renters of WeChat are students, and the agency will usually claim that the use of WeChat is to publish formal content, but in fact they are illegal advertisements, including gambling, pornography, etc. Therefore, WeChat can easily be blocked.

  "When students decide to rent out WeChat, I will tell them that if their account is officially blocked, they will be paid." The above-mentioned "boss" stated that WeChat will pay 100 yuan a day, 300 yuan for three days, and permanent ban will pay.   On July 29, a reporter from the Beijing News added an agent account as a student, and after agreeing to rent out WeChat, he was pulled into a new QQ group. There are 9 members in the group, 8 of whom are students renting out WeChat, and the rental price is 50 yuan per day.

  About 5 hours later, the accounts of 8 people in the group were officially banned. The reporter's WeChat login page showed that the account was restricted from logging in due to harassment, malicious marketing, fraud and other violations, and it was necessary to apply for unblocking. The blocking period ranged from 1 to 3 days.

WeChat issued a reminder, lawyer: renting an account is equivalent to authorizing others to use

  The Beijing News reporter noticed that after WeChat account is rented out, it will also face the risk of account theft.

  Student was investigated for renting WeChat, police: suspected of fraud

  The police found 17-year-old student Xiao Li (a pseudonym) through the real-name authentication WeChat account. After investigation, it was discovered that Xiao Li saw a part-time job loan on WeChat on the Internet, and the other party promised "30 yuan a day, no impact on the account owner."

  The police said that Xiao Li wanted to make money without going out, without any loss, and rented the WeChat account to the other party. After that, Xiao Li unblocked and rented again after his account was reported to be frozen. The other party used Xiao Li's WeChat account to add unfamiliar friends, induced them to swipe orders, and carried out fraud, resulting in the victim being defrauded of more than 60,000 yuan.

  Wuhan police believe that Xiao Li provided help to criminals suspected of fraud and was an accomplice of fraud. The case is currently under further investigation.
