On the morning of July 30, the "COSCO Taicang" loaded with containers honked and set sail, and departed from Guangxi Qinzhou Port under the supervision of maritime security and pilots. This is the first time that Guangxi Beibu Gulf Port (with Qinzhou Port, Beihai Port and Fangcheng Port under its jurisdiction) has opened a 100,000-ton container ship, marking the port’s entry into the era of 10,000 TEU ships.

"COSCO Taicang" is 348.5 meters long, 45.6 meters wide, and has a maximum capacity of 10020 standard containers. It is the largest container ship navigable in Beibu Gulf Port.

The Qinzhou Port East Channel Expansion Project is a key construction project for a new land-sea channel in western China, and a key project for building an international gateway port in the Beibu Gulf. The completion of the 100,000-ton container ship channel is conducive to the Beibu Gulf Port to adapt to the global development needs of large-scale container ships, and is an important step for the port to become a port with ten million TEUs.
