Volkswagen pulled out to top sales worldwide in the first half of Toyota Motor Corporation July 30 18:09

Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. has overtaken Volkswagen in Germany in the first half of the world's car sales and became the top.

This is Toyota Motor Corporation's sales from January to last month for a total of 4,164,487 units for both Daihatsu Motor and Hino Motors.

Due to the spread of new coronavirus infection, it decreased by 21% compared to the same period last year.

On the other hand, last year, Germany's Volkswagen, which had the highest number of vehicles sold in the first half of the world, fell by 27% to 3,893,100 units.

As a result, Toyota overtook Volkswagen and became the top unit in the number of vehicles sold in the first half.

Nissan Motor, Renault in France, and Mitsubishi Motors Co., Ltd. are in third place, down 33% from last year to 3,454,164 units.

Although sales of automobile manufacturers declined due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, sales of Ashimoto are recovering as economic activity resumes.

However, it is unclear whether sales will steadily recover as concerns about the so-called second wave of infection spread.
