The Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi issued a circular to raise the absorptive capacity in restaurants, cafes, "cafeterias", takeaway outlets and hospitality service operators inside and outside the commercial centers in the emirate, to 80% of seats, based on the preventive measures issued by the Emergency, Disaster and Crisis Management Committee Caused by the Corona pandemic.

And the department stipulated in a circular addressed yesterday to the owners and managers of restaurants, cafes, "cafeterias" and outlets for providing takeaway meals, to abide by applying a set of precautionary and preventive measures approved by the committee.

The department clarified that these procedures include conducting a new “Corona” examination using laser technology for the employees in the centers designated for that which will be prepared for this purpose, in addition to examining the employees ’temperature during the day every two hours and preventing unqualified employees from returning to work, as well as relying on employees from Those with low and low risk health risks to ensure health and safety in the workplace.

It also stipulated the use of masks and gloves by employees and workers all the time and the marking of the social spacing for a distance of two meters, and the reception of a maximum of four customers for each table with the non-use of dishes and glass cups and tableware that are not heat sterilized and replaced by tools for one-time use.

The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development called for the periodic sterilization of equipment and surfaces subject to repeated touching, while urging the use of payment methods without touching and informing the Health Department of any case showing symptoms of high temperature among employees.

The department pointed out that the buffet services, open food platforms and "counters" of food samples are still prohibited, with the exception of restaurants in hotels that provide a buffet waiter according to the instructions of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Agriculture and Food Safety.
