In an interview with Xinhua News Agency, the former Consul General of Poland in Shanghai Servese Shafas said that in the context of the continuous spread of the new crown epidemic and the severe recession of the world economy, the recovery of China's economic growth has brought confidence in the recovery of the world economy.

In the second quarter of this year, China's GDP grew by 3.2% year-on-year. Shafash positively commented that China’s economic growth rate first turned from negative to positive. He said: “China has overcome the adverse effects of the epidemic and the resulting global economic recession and has become the first major economy to resume growth since the outbreak of the new crown. The reconstruction of the world economy in the post-epidemic era will play a positive role."

Shafas said that in the EU countries’ efforts to contain the spread of the epidemic, “China has shared valuable anti-epidemic experience and expertise in a timely manner, and also donated medical supplies to countries in need, and dispatched medical personnel to provide local medical assistance. Contributed to the recovery of the European economy".

He said that China’s economic stimulus measures are mild but not radical, and they are worth learning from European countries. In the "post-epidemic era," there is room for further expansion of cooperation between Europe and China in the fields of economy, finance, society, science and technology.

Shafas also spoke highly of the role played by the China-Europe Railway Express in European economic recovery. In the first half of this year, the China-Europe Railway Express delivered a total of 3.67 million pieces of international cooperation anti-epidemic materials, and the total volume of goods shipped reached 461,000 TEUs, an increase of 41% year-on-year, and delivered to Poland, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania, etc. Multinational. "The China-Europe Express train has brought epidemic prevention and production materials to Europe, and helped Europe resume work and production as soon as possible, playing a unique role."

Shafas said: "I believe that both Europe and China hope and need to further deepen cooperation. Under the framework of the'Belt and Road Initiative' and '17+1 cooperation', to promote the economic recovery of the two sides in the post-epidemic era, this will also have a global impact. The economic recovery creates a benign stimulus."

He said, taking Poland as an example, Poland is building a central transportation port project covering aviation, railway and road transportation between the capital Warsaw and the important node of the China-Europe Railway Express. Polish Prime Minister Morawiecki called this project "Poland A window to the world".

"I believe that Poland's central transportation port is expected to become an important transportation and logistics hub connecting China with European and American countries, and will help China-Europe Express trains transport goods to Western European countries through Poland with higher efficiency." Shafas said.

Shafas believes that there are a lot of similar cooperation possibilities between Europe and China, and the epidemic provides an opportunity to expand bilateral cooperation, which is conducive to supporting European economic recovery. The Chinese economy took the lead in recovering, and it also injected confidence and momentum into the recovery of the European and global economies in the "post-epidemic era".
