Sales outlets and cooperative societies in the country’s markets have offered extended discounts on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, with rates of up to 70%, including food and consumer goods.
And a field tour of "Emirates Today" showed that some outlets offered these discounts early, to allow families to purchase Eid supplies at different times, and to ensure that they are not overcrowded.
In turn, consumers demanded to focus on the commodities most consumed during the Eid al-Adha period, and to increase the quantities and items of fresh and chilled meat and poultry covered by the sales.
In detail, consumer Rima Sultan said that outlets in Abu Dhabi offered discounts of up to 70% on a large number of commodities, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, which included food and non-food commodities, including oils, rice, and milk, as well as smartphones, electronics, and items of Chilled meat and poultry.
Sultan called for an increased focus on the basic commodity cuts that are consumed during the Eid al-Adha, and an increase in the types and quantities of fresh meat and poultry, pointing out that the cuts for meat end quickly, given the demand for them, compared to the offered quantities.
For his part, consumer Youssef Hashem said that the discounts included dozens of commodities, with rates ranging between 20 and 50%, and included direct discounts, or value-added offers, such as: “Buy two and the third for free.”
Hashem agreed to focus on basic commodities, such as fresh and chilled meat and poultry, and household items, noting that most of the items that are included in the discounts are from frozen meat and poultry, not fresh. He also called for offering “Eid al-Adha” discounts early and for a longer period.
As for the consumer, Imad Mansour, he said that there are discounts on a large number of products, but he prefers to focus on food and consumer goods that are frequently used during Eid al-Adha, such as meat and fresh poultry, children's toys and household items, stressing the importance of the diversity of offers, and that they start before the holiday Enough time.
Meanwhile, Abdul Hamid Al-Khashabi, the official spokesman for the markets of the Markets Group, which is affiliated with the Dubai Government Investment Corporation, said that the retail centers of the group had recently launched offers of discounts ranging between 30 and 50% on the occasion of “Eid Al-Adha”, noting that the offers It includes various food commodities such as rice, oils, meat, poultry and fruits, in addition to discounts on basic consumer goods.
He added that the group offered the discounts early to allow shopping at different times, and prevent crowding on Eid Al-Adha night.

For his part, the general manager of the Emirates Cooperative Society, Mohammed Youssef Al Khaja, said that the “Cooperative” Department launched a campaign for offers of discounts for the Eid Al-Adha season, with rates exceeding 50% at the beginning of the week.
He explained that offering discounts early before the Eid days, allows families to purchase Eid supplies at different times.
He added that the discounts offers include meat products, poultry, candy, vegetables and fruits, in addition to other basic food and consumer goods, providing more diversified options for consumers.
He referred to the management of the "cooperative" contract with the supply companies, long before, to provide large quantities of the goods of the discount offers.

As for the sales executive at another outlet, Janice Randy, she confirmed that the outlets in Abu Dhabi were prepared for significant discounts of up to 70%, amid expectations for increased sales by more than 30%.
She explained that the discounts on meat and poultry are available in a number of sales outlets, and quantities are offered daily, but they end quickly, due to the high demand, calling on shoppers to shop early. She noted that some types of meat depend on agreement with suppliers.
An official at an average outlet, Soti Niana, told «Emirates Today» that the medium sales outlets participate in Eid al-Adha offers, although with lower proportions in terms of quantities and the percentage of discounts compared to its large counterpart that allows greater discounts and various commodities.

Rashid Bin Howiden, Director of Supply and Merchandise Promotion in the "Sharjah Cooperative" said that the "Cooperative" has offered offers for discounts for "Al-Adha" by up to 50%, stressing that the offers will be presented early, and will continue until the third day of Eid.
He emphasized that the offers of discounts that are currently available in all the cooperative branches include various commodities, especially those that are in high demand before Eid Al-Adha, such as meat and poultry products, fruits and sweets.
The General Manager of the Ajman Cooperative Markets Association, Sami Muhammad Shaaban, emphasized that the “Tawuniya” is offering campaigns for sales of Eid Al-Adha season with rates ranging between 30 and 50%, starting today, Tuesday, and continuing during the days of Eid.
He added that the cuts include basic food and consumer products from the categories that are in greater demand, such as meat, poultry, fish, fruits and vegetables, in addition to items of oil and rice.
He emphasized that the offers of discounts took into account the diversity of commodities, to comply with the requirements of different groups of consumers.
