McDonald's: Will require customers to wear masks in more than 14,000 stores across the United States

In response to the new crown pneumonia epidemic, McDonald's in the United States issued a statement on the 24th, stating that since August 1st, McDonald's stores across the United States have required customers to wear masks when entering, and will provide masks at the entrance to guests who do not bring them.

According to the National Public Radio (NPR) report on the 24th, McDonald's has more than 14,000 stores in the United States. McDonald’s revealed to the media that customers who don’t want to wear masks will be directed to takeaway pick-up locations that keep a safe distance from other customers. In addition, the McDonald’s restaurant catering area will also add protective panels to maintain social isolation.

According to a report by Singapore’s Lianhe Zaobao on the 25th, a recent survey of 4187 McDonald’s employees by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) found that 44% of restaurant employees were verbally abused or beaten when reminding customers to wear masks. McDonald's therefore introduced new masks requirements to deal with customers who are unwilling to cooperate.
