Xinhua News Agency, Jinan, July 25 (Reporter Ye Jing) The latest statistics from Shandong Animal Husbandry Station show that Shandong egg prices have risen for two consecutive weeks. Industry insiders predict that from July to September, Shandong egg prices will remain volatile and upward.

According to the designated monitoring of the price of 26 bazaars in the province by the animal husbandry department of Shandong, from July 13 to July 19, the average sales price of eggs in Shandong was 6.00 yuan/kg, down 36.84% year-on-year and up 2.92% month-on-month.

Hu Zhisheng, senior pastor of the Shandong Provincial Animal Husbandry Station, told reporters that since July, rising temperatures and stagnant laying hens have led to a decline in egg production. At the same time, combined with the current weakening of slaughter supplements and increased production capacity, the price of eggs has continued to rise.

According to the monitoring of 260 layer chicken farms in 15 counties in Shandong by the Shandong Provincial Animal Husbandry General Station, the stock of reserve chickens has declined for 5 consecutive months since February, and the month-on-month decrease in June reached 7.67%. It can be seen that the enthusiasm of breeding farms is weak, and production capacity continues to shrink.

From the demand side, although the climate conditions such as high temperatures and the "plum rainy season" are not conducive to egg storage, market demand is further recovering. According to the monitoring of Shandong Provincial Animal Husbandry General Station, from July 6 to July 12, the volume of egg transactions in Shandong Province decreased by 1.17% year-on-year and increased by 0.46% month-on-month, indicating that egg supply and demand in July have further tightened.

Hu Zhisheng predicts that, taking into account the impact of the breeding cycle, the number of newly opened laying hens will be reduced from August to September, which will form a certain support for egg prices and keep prices from July to September upward.
