The reporter learned from the meeting that the third CIIE will be held as scheduled in Shanghai from November 5 to November 10, 2020. The overall framework is roughly the same as the previous two. At present, various preparatory work is progressing steadily and orderly. The contracted areas of the three exhibition areas for consumer goods, medical and service trade have all exceeded the planned area, and the automobile exhibition area is also close to saturation.

[Explanation] The 3rd CIIE has set up six exhibition areas, namely food and agricultural products, automobiles, technical equipment, consumer goods, medical equipment and medicine and health care, and service trade exhibition areas. At the same time, in combination with global hotspots and industry development trends, four new special areas have been established, including public health and epidemic prevention, energy conservation and environmental protection, smart travel, sporting goods and competitions. The world's top 500 and leading companies in the industry actively participated in the exhibition, and the number has reached the previous scale. Most of the world’s top 10 well-known companies in the pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, dairy, cosmetics, high-end consumer products, inspection and testing, automotive, industrial electrical, engineering machinery and other industries have signed up to participate in the exhibition, and dozens of companies have applied for consecutive signings for the next three sessions. Recently, the General Administration of Customs has officially issued the customs clearance instructions for the third CIIE, and introduced relevant facilitation measures, which will effectively guarantee the safe and convenient entry and exit of participants and exhibits at the CIIE.
In terms of epidemic prevention and control, the 3rd CIIE has also made full preparations. For the first time, a fever isolation area and a detention area will be added to the scene, with a negative pressure ambulance. Dispatch professional health teams into the venues and identify 29 hospitals as designated hospitals for the CIIE to prepare for on-site medical security services, emergency rescue and mass casualty acceptance, and first diagnosis and treatment of infectious disease cases.
