At 17:00 on July 24, the Information Office of the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region held a press conference to report on the current situation of the new coronavirus pneumonia in Urumqi and its prevention and control work and answer reporters’ questions. Yan Jun, director of the Urumqi Bureau of Commerce (Food Bureau), said that after the outbreak, Urumqi has attached great importance to market supply. Based on previous measures, it has continued to introduce measures to ensure supply and price stabilization, and go all out to ensure the normal lives of the people.
Yan Jun said that at present, Urumqi City has sufficient reserves of vegetables, grain, oil, and meat. The wholesale prices of main meat products and 60 common vegetables and the prices of direct vegetable outlets in various communities have basically fallen to the normal levels before the outbreak.
