French entrepreneurs have been a little more peaceful since the deconfinement, even if the economic situation is far from being back to normal. The business climate continued to recover in July. However, it remains “clearly below” its level before confinement, INSEE said Thursday.
A long-term average of 100
This synthetic indicator, calculated from the responses of business leaders from the main sectors of commercial activity, reached 85 points in July, a jump of 7 points compared to June, said the National Institute of Statistics. But it “nevertheless remains clearly below its long-term average (100), and a fortiori its relatively high pre-confinement level (105)”.
Business leaders rated business prospects as good in most sectors. In the same vein, the employment climate also improved in July, after reaching a low point in April. At 77 points, he thus gained 10 points compared to the month of June.
