During the presentation of the Tesla Model Y, there was talk of marketing 4 different versions. Today, only 2 of them are available in France: the “Performance” and “Grande Autonomie” versions, both with 2 engines, at respective prices of € 70,000 and € 63,000. If, like us, you go to the manufacturer's website, you will see that a version "Standard Autonomy should go into production in early 2022". But on July 13, the boss Elon Musk himself seems to have updated this information via a tweet by saying that the autonomy of a Model Y "Standard" would be too weak.
Not profitable?
Behind this reaction, one wonders if Tesla does not avoid marketing a version that would be too unprofitable. But may the fans of the brand still be reassured: Elon Musk mentioned the arrival of a Tesla Model Y "Autonomy Standard Plus". Concretely, this model will embed a single engine (instead of two currently) with long autonomy. Tesla is targeting at least 400 km with an estimated price well above € 50,000, whereas an entry-level version would have made it possible to descend below this fateful threshold.
