The number of hotel guests, citizens and residents within the country, recorded four million and 563 thousand and 405 guests.
Guests of hotels and hotel establishments from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries ranked fourth with a total of three million and 282 thousand and 870 guests, while the number of guests from non-Gulf Arab countries reached two million, 908 thousand and 812 guests.
And hotel guests from the Americas recorded one million and 400 thousand and 392 guests, and guests from African countries one million and 177 thousand and 290 guests, then hotel guests from Oceania with a total of approximately 352 thousand guests, and the rest from other countries.
Duration of stay
The Authority’s report revealed that visitors spent 84 million 963,188 nights in Emirates hotels, with a growth of 5.8% over the year 2018, with an average stay of 3.13 nights. In turn, the occupancy rate of hotels and hotel establishments in the country increased during the year 2019 by 0.8%, as it increased from 73.5% to 74.1%, while the total revenue reached 30 billion and 672 million dirhams, which includes income from accommodation, food and drink, and other revenues.
Hotels and apartments
The Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority stated that the number of hotel establishments in the country reached 1136 hotel establishments, including 805 hotels and 331 hotel apartment establishments, which together include 183 thousand and 194 hotel rooms and apartments, including 147 thousand and 447 hotel rooms, 35 thousand and 747 hotel apartments, with growth It is 5.8% for the year 2018, when the number of rooms reached 173 thousand and 86 rooms and hotel apartments.
