China News Service, Fuzhou, July 16 (Reporter Long Min) In Shangpan Village, Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone, Fujian Province, windmills are scattered and standing tall, dancing in the air, and composed of blue sea, blue sky and white clouds A beautiful fairy-tale picture.

Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone is located on the east coast of Fujian. There is a saying in the local area that there is a wind every year, blowing from spring to winter. There are more than 200 days of winds above 7th grade and more than 100 days above winds of 8th grade. In recent years, this constant wind has become the most precious resource in the area.

It is precisely because of the unique climatic conditions of Pingtan, that the construction of Pingtan Qingfeng Wind Farm started at the end of 2011, and it started production in early 2013. Unlike thermal power plants, wind power generation does not require the consumption of fossil energy. Only the natural wind drives the blades of the fan to generate electricity.

Nowadays, along the coastline of Fujian, there are power generating windmills from north to south, and a green energy chain has suddenly formed, becoming a strong source of power to promote the development of Fujian.

On July 12, China's first 10 MW offshore wind turbine was successfully connected to the grid at the Xinghuawan Phase II offshore wind farm in Fuqing, Fujian. This is the largest single-machine capacity independently developed by China in the Asia-Pacific region and the second largest offshore in the world. Wind turbines have set a new record for China's offshore wind power capacity.

In recent years, as Fujian has ushered in the construction of the core area of the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" and free trade pilot areas, many large projects have entered Fujian and the energy situation has become tighter. As energy is relatively scarce and water resources development is close to saturation, clean wind energy has become the starting point for Fujian to optimize its energy structure and power supply layout.

Affected by the narrow tube effect in the Taiwan Strait, Fujian’s wind energy resources are very rich. After preliminary investigation, the total reserves of land-based wind energy resources in Fujian Province are 41.13 million kilowatts, ranking the forefront of the country, with a technology development and utilization capacity of 7.73 million kilowatts and offshore technology development capacity of 5.75 million kilowatts.

The abundant wind energy resources have attracted domestic and foreign enterprises to hear the "wind". In 2015, the Three Gorges Group and Fujian Province signed a cooperation agreement to make Fujian, which has an excellent endowment of offshore wind power resources, a key practice area for the development of offshore wind power on a contiguous scale.

Weng Yuyao, director of the Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out that the introduction of the top offshore wind power equipment manufacturing companies at home and abroad into the Three Gorges Offshore Wind Power International Industrial Park, to carry out the research and development of high-power offshore wind turbines, and to build national-level offshore wind power R&D, testing and certification The center will transform the industrial park into a world-class advanced offshore wind power equipment research and development, production, export, inspection, operation and maintenance and talent training base.

Wang Lin, deputy secretary and general manager of the Three Gorges Group, said that the group regards Fujian as a centralized breakthrough area for industrialization, large-scale and high-end offshore wind power equipment manufacturing, and organizes all parties to actively explore independent innovation and collaborative innovation models to promote offshore wind power The entire industrial chain layout of equipment manufacturing strives to cultivate offshore wind power technology and related industries into new growth points that will drive the transformation and upgrading of clean energy in China.

The development of Fujian's offshore wind power industry is continuously accelerating. In the list of key provincial projects in 2020 issued by the Fujian Provincial Development and Reform Commission, there are as many as 17 offshore wind power projects and 1 offshore wind power industrial park, including the Fuqing Haitan Strait offshore wind farm project, the Three Gorges Fujian Zhangpu Liuao Offshore Wind farm area D project, Fuqing Xinghuawan offshore wind farm project, etc.

Fujian Provincial Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd. stated that it will seize the favorable opportunities brought by the explosive growth of the offshore wind power market. In the first 5 months of this year, the Group's offshore wind power steel structure and installation business undertook orders exceeding 3.5 billion yuan, of which the wind power sector exceeded the annual target of operating orders with a completion rate of 135%.

According to the plan, by the end of 2020 and the end of 2030, Fujian's offshore wind power installed capacity will exceed 2 million kilowatts and 5 million kilowatts, respectively, making it the top three provinces of China's offshore wind power installations. The relevant person in charge of State Grid Fujian Electric Power Co., Ltd. said that the accelerated development of offshore wind power will replace part of the coal-fired power generation, save a lot of coal, reduce the "three wastes" emissions, and promote Fujian to become a "clean energy province."
