According to the location of the business unit, in June, the retail sales of consumer goods in urban areas was 290.52 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2.0%, a decrease of 0.8 percentage points from the previous month; the retail sales of consumer goods in rural areas was 447.4 billion yuan, a decrease of 1.2%, and the decrease rate was narrower than the previous month 2.0 percentage points. From January to June, the retail sales of consumer goods in cities and towns amounted to 149345 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 11.5%; the retail sales of consumer goods in rural areas reached 2291.1 billion yuan, a decrease of 10.9%.
In terms of consumption type, in June, retail sales of goods were 302.63 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 0.2%, a decrease of 0.6 percentage points from the previous month; catering revenue was 326.2 billion yuan, a decrease of 15.2%, a decrease of 3.7 percentage points from the previous month. From January to June, the retail sales of commodities amounted to 15,764.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 8.7%; the revenue of catering services was 1,460.9 billion yuan, a decrease of 32.8%.
In terms of retail formats, the retail sales of supermarkets above designated size in January-June increased by 3.8% year-on-year, while department stores, specialty stores and specialty stores decreased by 23.6%, 14.1% and 14.4% respectively.
From January to June, the nation's online retail sales were 5,151.5 billion yuan, an increase of 7.3% year-on-year and an increase of 2.8 percentage points from January to May. Among them, the online retail sales of physical goods was 4,348.1 billion yuan, an increase of 14.3%, accounting for 25.2% of the total retail sales of social consumer goods; of the online retail sales of physical goods, food and consumer goods increased by 38.8% and 17.3%, respectively.
