China News Service, July 16th. The website of the National Bureau of Statistics announced on June 16 the energy production situation in June 2020. Data show that in June, the production of raw coal in industrial enterprises above designated size declined slightly, crude oil production increased slightly, natural gas maintained rapid growth, and electricity production accelerated.

Raw coal, crude oil and natural gas production and related situation

  Raw coal production declined slightly. In June, the production of raw coal was 330 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.2%, an increase of 1.1 percentage points from the previous month; the average daily output was 11.14 million tons, an increase of 860,000 tons. In the first half of the year, 1.81 billion tons of raw coal was produced, an increase of 0.6% year-on-year, and a decrease of 0.5% in the first quarter.

  Coal imports fell. In June, 25.29 million tons of coal was imported, an increase of 3.23 million tons from the previous month, down 6.7% year-on-year; in the first half of the year, 174 million tons of coal was imported, an increase of 12.7% year-on-year, down 15.7 percentage points from the first quarter.

  The port coal trading price continued to rise. On July 3, the coal prices of Qinhuangdao Port 5500 kcal, 5000 kcal and 4500 kcal were 556 yuan, 506 yuan and 450 yuan per ton respectively, up 28 yuan, 33 yuan and 28 yuan from May 29.

  Crude oil production has increased slightly, and processing volume has accelerated. In June, crude oil production was 16.24 million tons, an increase of 0.7% year-on-year, and the growth rate fell by 0.6 percentage points from the previous month; processed crude oil was 57.87 million tons, an increase of 9.0%, an increase of 0.8 percentage points from the previous month. In the first half of the year, crude oil production was 97.15 million tons, an increase of 1.7% year-on-year, a decrease of 0.7 percentage points from the first quarter; processed crude oil was 320 million tons, an increase of 0.6% year-on-year, and a decrease of 4.6% in the first quarter.

  Crude oil imports have grown rapidly and international crude oil prices have rebounded sharply. In June, imported crude oil was 53.18 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 34.4%. In the first half of the year, 269 million tons of crude oil were imported, an increase of 9.9% year-on-year, 4.9 percentage points higher than the first quarter. The spot offshore price of Brent crude oil on June 30 was US$41.64 per barrel, a 21.9% increase from the US$34.15 per barrel on May 29.

  Natural gas production maintained rapid growth. In June, natural gas production was 15.2 billion cubic meters, an increase of 11.3% year-on-year, the growth rate fell 1.4 percentage points from the previous month, and the average daily output was 510 million cubic meters. In the first half of the year, 94 billion cubic meters of natural gas was produced, an increase of 10.3% year-on-year, and an increase of 1.2 percentage points from the first quarter.

  Natural gas import growth has accelerated significantly. In June, 8.33 million tons of natural gas was imported, an increase of 10.8% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 6.6 percentage points faster than last month. In the first half of the year, 48.36 million tons of natural gas was imported, an increase of 3.3% year-on-year, 1.5 percentage points higher than the first quarter.

Electricity production

  Electricity production continues to accelerate. In June, the power generation capacity was 630.4 billion kWh, an increase of 6.5% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 2.2 percentage points higher than that of the previous month. The average daily power generation capacity was 21.01 billion kWh, an increase of 1.87 billion kWh. In the first half of the year, power generation was 336.4 billion kWh, a decrease of 1.4% year-on-year, and the decrease was 5.4 percentage points narrower than that in the first quarter.

  In terms of varieties, in June, the growth rate of thermal power, solar power, and nuclear power declined, and the growth rate of hydropower changed from negative to positive, and wind power grew rapidly. Among them, thermal power increased by 5.4% year-on-year, and the growth rate fell by 3.6 percentage points from the previous month; solar power generation increased by 5.8%, down by 1.3 percentage points; nuclear power increased by 13.6%, dropped by 0.7 percentage points; hydropower increased by 6.9%, a decrease of 16.5% last month. ; Wind power grew by 15.8%, 10.6 percentage points faster.
