This was reported by TASS with reference to a statement by the State Department.

"The State Department is not currently imposing any sanctions in accordance with Section 232 of the CAATSA," the US Foreign Office said.

At the same time, they said in Washington that if they consider the imposition of sanctions in accordance with Section 232 to be appropriate, then "they will do it without hesitation."

Earlier, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the State Department updated the recommendations under the CAATSA law and included Nord Stream 2 and the second thread of the Turkish Stream.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called these actions "the use of political pressure to ensure unfair competition."
