Why is Beijing suspending the adjustment of the minimum wage this year?

Beijing News (Reporter Wu Wei) On July 14, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security released the Beijing 2020 social security treatment centralized adjustment plan. Four social security treatment standards have been raised this time, but the minimum wage standard has been temporarily suspended this year.

The person in charge of the relevant office of the Beijing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau explained that, taking into account the impact of the epidemic, the relevant units in Beijing evaluated the implementation of the minimum wage, and at the same time reported to their superiors for approval, proposing to suspend the adjustment of the minimum wage standard this year.

The person in charge said that according to national regulations, it can be adjusted every two years. Last July 1st, Beijing adjusted the minimum wage standard and this year it will continue to implement this standard. That is, the monthly minimum wage applicable to full-time employees continues to be 2,200 yuan, the minimum hourly wage applicable to part-time employees continues to be 24 yuan, and the minimum hourly wage standard applicable to statutory holidays for part-time employees continues to be 56 yuan.

"This is taking into account the difficulties of the enterprise and the stability of employee income." The person in charge said.
