The general annual consumer price index in Dubai decreased by 3.44% in June, compared to the same month last year.

The Dubai Statistics Center said in a report issued yesterday that the prices of the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel division decreased by 5.54%, which reduced inflation by 2.29 points, while the prices of the transportation department decreased by 13.39%, which reduced inflation by 1.54 points.

According to the report, the prices of the entertainment and culture section decreased by 11.63%, which reduced inflation by 0.24 points, the prices of the clothing and footwear section decreased by 6.44%, which reduced inflation by 0.13 points, while the prices of the communications department decreased by 0.10%.

On the other hand, the report indicated that the price index increased for: the Food and Beverage Department by 3.49%, which pushed inflation by 0.45 points, the Education section by 1.87%, which pushed inflation by 0.17 points, the tobacco section by 15.96%, which pushed inflation by 0.09 Points, the department of goods and services varied by 0.50%, which pushed inflation by 0.03 points, the section of furniture, furniture and household appliances and repaired by 0.25%, which pushed inflation by 0.01 points, the department of restaurants and hotels by 0.12%, which pushed inflation by 0.01 points, and the health department 0.06%.

In addition, the general monthly index of consumer prices increased in June 2020, compared to the previous month of May by 0.16%, as a result of the rise in the prices of: housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel division by 0.28%, which pushed inflation by 0.11 points, and the section of miscellaneous goods and services by 0.86 %, Which pushed inflation by 0.05 points, and the Transportation Department by 0.11%, which pushed inflation by 0.01 points.
