BMW 02 Reminiscence Concept - DR

Born in the late 1960s, the BMW 2002 is one of the emblematic models of BMW, mainly in its “Turbo” version. And for the record, already in 1972, on the occasion of the Munich Olympic Games, the manufacturer had unveiled an… electric version: the BMW 1602 Elektro-Antrieb. It was she who inspired designer David Obendorfer (whose Type H can be found here) for his electrical concept "02 Reminiscence".

On its design, we find the typical round headlights and taillights, the general silhouette of the coupe and a sleek interior where you can see a 3-spoke steering wheel with vintage looks. But the fact remains that the pencil stroke is resolutely modern.

Could the Bavarian manufacturer fall for the concept of this independent designer, and do something with it? Only one certainty: with a 100% electric propulsion, this BMW "02 Reminiscence" would be well in its place in the current automotive landscape.
