China News Service, July 8 (Xinhua) According to the official WeChat news of Shengsi County Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, due to frequent red tides in the eastern waters of Shengsi County recently. Affected by the red tide, the County Oceanic and Fishery Bureau quantitatively inspected the cultured mussels in the eastern townships and towns and found that the shellfish toxin exceeded the standard. The County Market Supervision Bureau qualitatively sampled wild shellfish "Mao Niang" at the county center farmer's market stall and also found positive shellfish toxin.

  The Food Safety Office of Shengsi County hereby issued a consumer warning that eating shellfish with excessive toxins may cause food poisoning, reminding the general public not to collect and purchase seafood such as farmed mussels and wild shellfish "Mao Niang" in the near future.
