Preparatory work for the Linear Chuo Shinkansen was not accepted.

Regarding the construction of the Linear Chuo Shinkansen, Shizuoka Prefecture reiterated the idea on the 7th that JR Tokai would not be allowed to start preparatory work. On the other hand, the JR side announced on the 8th that it was "very disappointing" and would like to discuss with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism about future measures.

JR Tokai has repeatedly requested that the preparatory work for the main construction of the tunnel be undertaken through a meeting with Governor Kawakatsu of Shizuoka Prefecture and the exchange of documents thereafter, but prefectures concerned about the impact on water resources On the 7th, I replied that the work could not be started again.

In response, JR Tokai announced a comment on the 8th, saying, "Preparation work is a construction that does not affect water resources in the first place, and when President Kaneko met with Governor Kawakatsu, the tunnel excavation work would be completely disruptive. Although I promised not to do so, I am very sorry that I could not understand this time again.”

In addition, regarding the opening time, I commented again to the interview that "Because preparatory work is not approved, it is unfortunate that opening in 2027 is difficult".

JR Tokai wants to discuss with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism about future measures, given the delay in opening operations is unavoidable.
