In many mountain resorts, the occupancy rate is already equivalent to that of last summer, with longer stays. What reassure tourism professionals who feared the fallout from the coronavirus epidemic.

However, three weeks ago, these professionals had almost no reservations. But today, the occupancy rate is equivalent to that of last summer, with longer stays. Some even predict a better season than last year, like in Tignes or Les Arcs, in the Alps.

"We have a fairly marked start"

Ditto in Peyragudes, in the Hautes-Pyrénées, where the station has strongly developed its summer activities for two years, and displays an unexpected reservation rate for the coming days, according to its director Laurent Garcia. "What we can see in the first week of July, that is to say from Saturday, is that there are three times more people who booked than last year, with a rate of occupancy of the apartments of 60% against 20% last year. It is the same for the second week of July. We all have in mind the months of July which always start slowly. Until July 20, often, c 'is rather winded, and here we have a fairly marked start ".
