“In March, the unemployment rate in the Russian Federation was 4.7%, in May this figure rose to 6.1%, and today the growth rate of unemployment is slowing down,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

As the minister explained, in order to achieve a low increase in unemployment, a number of measures were taken, for example, subsidies for wages to employees of enterprises in affected sectors. This allowed to keep the teams, he stressed.

A package of credit support measures was also organized, Kotyakov said.

As it became known on July 2, the government will allocate more than 4 billion rubles to create temporary jobs.

The funds will be directed to the regions for a partial reimbursement of staff wages.
