Mercadona has put in place a system that detects people who have a restraining order. At the moment, it will start in 40 stores in Mallorca, Zaragoza and Valencia.

It is a system that detects only people with a final sentence and an interim order to withdraw from the establishment or any of its workers, issued by a court.

In a statement, the company says that this system has been put in contact with the corresponding authorities and with the aim of reinforcing the safety of the client and of the workers.

The system, which works through the recognition of physical features , allows the violation to be detected. Once it is verified that it is the person on whom that order has been issued, the security forces and bodies are informed.

This new technology does not store additional information about the person. This is eliminated in 0.3 seconds, which is the duration of all this verification process and communication to the authorities.

This improvement in security has been reported in stores with information signs available at the entrances.
