Like the brand's other SUVs, the Q5 adopts a more flattened grille, redesigned lights, sharper sides or a chrome strip between the rear lights. These rear lights, precisely, adopt for the first time in the world an OLED technology allowing to increase the light intensity when the vehicle is stopped, in case another inattentive driver seems to approach dangerously from the rear.
The passenger compartment has also been refreshed, and we note for example the disappearance of the rotary control wheel of the MMI multimedia system, which is now only operated by the touch screen.
Diesel first, the rest will follow
The engines are also evolving, adopting all light hybridization, in 12V on 4-cylinder engines, in 48V on 6-cylinder.
The Audi Q5 will first be marketed in its new 40 TDI version, whose 2.0 TDI 204 hp is equipped with TwinDosing technology (double injection of ADBlue) aimed at reducing NOx emissions. Later will come other versions of this engine, as well as a V6 TDI and petrol engines. The 55 TFSIe plug-in hybrid version has also been extended.
The new Audi Q5 will be available this summer at a basic price of € 51,800.
