  • Tourism: Will Boris Johnson let the British come to Benidorm, their favorite vacation destination in the world?

British tourists will start traveling to Spain from July 6 without quarantine upon return, according to plans to be released by the British government next week, according to the BBC.

Travelers to France and Greece will also be exempt from compulsory isolation for 14 days upon return to the UK. Italy, Germany, Turkey, the Netherlands and Belgium will probably receive the same preferential treatment.

Portugal, which started out in a privileged position to create "air corridors", has nevertheless apparently dropped off the list due to the outbreaks of recent weeks. Sweden, with an infection rate even higher than the United Kingdom, is also expected to be left out.

The news will be received with notable relief by the tourism sector and by major airlines such as British Airways, Ryanair and EasyJet, which recently brought the British Government to court for the imposition of the quarantine, which will be reviewed in any case on June 29. .

The foreseeable announcement has also raised great expectations in the Spanish tourism sector. Our country is the preferred destination for British tourists, who overcame the 18 million barrier last year and accounted for an income of 8,500 million euros.

Spain had already gone ahead on June 20 announcing the lifting of the quarantine for tourists from the EU, in addition to the British, and since then expected a reciprocal decision from London.
