Recommendation to "Satofuru" Payment at 8% after the consumption tax rate increase June 26, 17:53

When "Satofuru", who runs the hometown tax payment site, buys rewards from a trader, even if the consumption tax rate reached 10% in October last year, some transactions still paid at a tax rate of 8%. The Fair Trade Commission has made recommendations to prevent recurrence.

Satofuru, under the consignment of the local government, purchases special products and other rewards from vendors and delivers them to those who have paid their taxes.

According to the Fair Trade Commission, Satofu was still buying reciprocal items at a tax rate of 8% to about 800 vendors nationwide even after the consumption tax rate was raised to 10%.

As a result, 4.9 million yen had been unpaid by February, and the Fair Trade Commission made a recommendation on the 26th that the company should prevent recurrence, denying the pass-through of the consumption tax.

Satoru commented that he had already paid the unpaid amount after receiving the indication, saying, "I do not fully understand the laws and regulations, and I deeply apologize to the target businesses and local governments."

In addition, a survey conducted by the Fair Trade Commission revealed that some local governments have suspected that returned goods companies have been asked not to add the tax increase.

For this reason, the Fair Trade Commission has asked the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications to call on the local government to properly pass on the consumption tax.
