According to the agency, referring to two German officials, the government of Angela Merkel is considering the possibility of coordinated actions of the European Union.

The German Ministry of Economy, as noted, the document indicates that the expansion of US sanctions could hit German and European companies, banks, as well as public services.

In early June, the US Senate introduced a bill on sanctions against the project. As stated, it aims to clarify and expand existing sanctions.

Later, the Bundestag called for the introduction of similar measures against US senators who advocate sanctions against Nord Stream 2.

In addition, they noted that Germany could introduce penalties for gas from the United States in the event of continued pressure on the project.
