Spain faces one of the most extraordinary challenges in its history. The coronavirus pandemic has unleashed what many organizations and the government itself have described as the toughest crisis "in peacetime . " And although Vice President Calviño tried to defend this week in Congress that "the recovery has already begun", the data is devastating: the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is going to collapse 9% in the best case; the debt will reach levels never before recorded; and unemployment will be around 20% for sure, although the figure could go even further depending on how the temporary regulation files are resolved.
