"Hello Page" will be abolished after October next year. Awareness of personal information has increased. June 18, 18:41.

NTT will finally abolish the phonebook "Hello Page" by the Japanese syllabary, which will be issued after October next year. This is due to the spread of mobile phones and increased awareness of the protection of personal information.

The individual titles and company titles of fixed-line phonebooks "Hello Page" issued by NTT East and West Japan will be abolished.

In each case, the final version will be issued in order for each region in the next 18 months from October next year.

The Hello Page contains the names and telephone numbers of the desired fixed telephone subscribers, and approximately 65 million copies were issued during the peak of fiscal 2005.

However, with the widespread use of mobile phones and the Internet, as well as heightened awareness of the protection of personal information, the number of people who wish to publish or distribute it has decreased significantly, and the number of circulation this year is expected to remain at 1.19 million, NTT said. It means that we decided to abolish Hello Page based on such usage situation.

NTT will continue to issue the “104” service that provides fixed-line phone numbers by voice and the “Town Page” that lists phone numbers of companies and stores by industry.
