Market transaction volume exceeds 3 trillion yuan, with approximately 800 million participants

Sharing economy regulates development in "upgrade" (Online China)

This year's government work report pointed out that the development of a platform economy and a shared economy will stimulate greater social creativity. Shared bicycles, shared charging treasure, shared medical care... In recent years, the sharing economy has ushered in one after another, while having a significant impact on residents' lives, the industry is also standardized in the "upgrading" development.

"Sharing" makes life more convenient

Xiao Yang works in a public institution in Beijing, where he lives less than 3 kilometers away from the unit, and now he commutes by bike every day. "It's convenient and healthy to spend some money to buy a monthly card and ride a bike to get off work," Xiao Yang told reporters.

In 2014, the emergence of ofo, Mobike and other shared bicycles attracted the attention of the society, and the sharing economy entered people's vision. After several years, the sharing economy has gradually developed and expanded, and its output value and employment number have been steadily increasing.

The National Information Center’s Sharing Economy Research Center released the “China’s Sharing Economy Development Report (2020)” showing that the share economy market transaction volume in 2019 was 3,282.8 billion yuan, an increase of 11.6% over the previous year; at the same time, the sharing economy played an active role in stabilizing employment effect. The number of employees on the platform is 6.23 million, an increase of 4.2% over the previous year; the number of participants in the sharing economy is about 800 million, of which about 78 million are service providers, a year-on-year increase of 4%.

Not only that, the role of the sharing economy in promoting the optimization of the structure of the service industry and the transformation of consumption patterns has become more apparent. In 2019, the new sharing economy formats in the fields of taxis, catering, accommodation, etc. accounted for 37.1%, 12.4%, and 7.3% of the industry, respectively, an increase of 20.5, 7.8, and 3.8 percentage points from 2016; The penetration rates of take-out catering, shared accommodation, and shared healthcare among netizens reached 47.4%, 51.58%, 9.7%, and 21%, respectively, an increase of 15.1, 21.58, 4.7, and 7 percentage points from 2016.

In the past five years, the sharing economy has handed out a brilliant performance list. Its role is not only to increase employment and promote economic transformation, but also have a huge impact on the lives of ordinary people. Nowadays, shared bicycles all over the streets, shared charging treasures at the hotel front desk, and the growing share of medical services are really serving the daily lives of residents.

A new grip for anti-epidemic relief

The new coronary pneumonia epidemic is a new challenge for the sharing economy.

The shared charging treasure that relies on physical stores to survive, because of the need to prevent and control the epidemic, has been largely idle. It is a big shock to the rapidly growing shared charging treasure industry. Not only sharing charging treasure, but also sharing accommodation, transportation, housekeeping services and other online and offline integration is high and must complete the entire transaction closed loop through offline activities, platform companies' order volume and operating income have also been greatly reduced, these industries have encountered "Winter".

But the epidemic also spawned a new sharing economy model. In February, the chairman of Xibei Catering, Jia Guolong, disclosed to the media that the pressure to survive was huge, and a large number of employees were waiting for work. But within a few days, 1,000 Xibei employees went to work at Hema Xiansheng. This is not resignation or digging, but sharing.

During the epidemic prevention period, sharing employees has become a new model of the sharing economy. A large number of employees were idle during catering companies like Sibei during the epidemic prevention period, but new Internet-based retailing has created new hiring needs, and the two sides hit it off. Internet platforms such as Suning, JD.com, and Hema Xiansheng have opened up positions for catering enterprises to achieve sharing, which not only reduces the burden on catering enterprises, but also solves the "labor shortage" of Internet retail enterprises.

Sharing orders, sharing platforms...During the epidemic prevention period, a variety of new models of the sharing economy have emerged, which has become a new starting point for relief.

Yu Fengxia, deputy director of the Sharing Economy Research Center of the National Information Center, said that innovation in the sharing economy model can help alleviate the huge impact of the epidemic. These model innovations not only effectively helped people's daily life services during the epidemic prevention, but also benefited the long-term development of platform companies.

"Credit" is important in the sharing economy

The once shared bike ofo was exposed by the media because of arrears of the user's deposit, and some shared bikes that were rushing back then disappeared. After the savage growth, the sharing economy is gradually developing steadily.

With the implementation of the "E-Commerce Law", the development of the sharing economy has entered a track of legalization, which is a good thing for both platforms and consumers. Only when there is law can we develop orderly.

However, the implementation of the "E-Commerce Law" requires more detailed support, and at the same time, different local discretionary powers during the implementation process are also a major factor that plagues the development of the sharing economy platform.

Yu Fengxia suggested that we should continue to promote institutional innovation that contributes to the development of the sharing economy, and accelerate the improvement of supporting implementation rules that have introduced policies. Guide and encourage local innovation, and explore the establishment of a fault-tolerant and error-correcting mechanism and implementation rules for innovation and reform in the field of platform economy.

The sharing economy activities are mainly carried out on the platform, which is very different from the traditionally organized manufacturers. The basis of trading on the platform is prone to information asymmetry, resulting in damage to both parties' interests. Therefore, credit plays an important role in the sharing economy.

Peking University researcher Jin Ge said that it is necessary to strengthen the supervision of large platform enterprises to prevent the phenomenon of “shop bullying”. However, it is also necessary to guide the platform to establish a credit mechanism to protect the interests of both parties of the transaction through a series of measures such as consumer identity authentication and punishment for dishonesty, and to create a good environment for sharing economic activities.
