Kia Ceed SW & XCeed PHEV - DR

The Ceed family receives for the first time a plug-in hybrid system that combines petrol and electric motors. Enough to travel several tens of kilometers without emissions.

Kia XCeed PHEV - DR

The two models concerned are the Kia Ceed SW station wagon and the XCeed crossover. In their plug-in hybrid version (PHEV), both models are equipped with a 1.6-liter turbo petrol engine accompanied by a 44.5 kW electric motor, for a total power of 141 hp. Although the battery pack with a capacity of 8.9 kWh is located next to the fuel tank, under the rear seat, it still encroaches a little on the load volume: 437 liters for the Ceed SW (- 188 l) and 291 liters for the XCeed (- 135 l). But a storage space for the charging cable is provided under the floor of the trunk.

The advantage of the technology is obviously to be able to travel up to 60 km in electric mode with the Ceed SW, and up to 58 km with the XCeed, slightly penalized by its characteristic height of "SUVs". Both models receive a 6-speed automatic transmission as standard.

The Ceed SW and XCeed have been available since June from € 36,490 excluding bonuses, which Kia will double until the end of the year to help launch the models.
