Sunday morning, the judicial administration had announced that a judge of the Supreme Court had received a threatening letter at his personal home. The letter referred to one of the magistrate's sons, killed in an attack, and contained, according to the television channel 13, "  clear death threats  ". Since then, the same judge has received another threatening letter and on Monday, the mailbox of another member of the Supreme Court was covered with stickers bearing the inscription "  Jewish blood is not cheap  " .

The law enforcement department of the Court lodged a complaint with the police, who considered that the threats were linked. The two judges have both recently sat in a case in which the court refused to destroy the home of the family of a Palestinian who killed an Israeli. But in its press release, the judicial administration also saw in it "  the direct result of an uncontrolled and continuous incitement against the judicial system and its judges  ".

On Sunday morning, at the opening of the Council of Ministers, Benyamin Netanyahu condemned these threats and drew a parallel with his situation, claiming to have lodged complaints three times this month.

But the leader of the opposition, Yair Lapid, accuses the Prime Minister of being responsible for this situation, denouncing the "incitement" campaigns he is waging against the judicial system. An opinion shared by the newspaper Maariv which writes this Monday June 15 that the current climate recalls that of 1995 before the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin .
