Gao Feng said that in the first five months of this year, China's imports and exports with ASEAN reached 1.7 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.2%. Among them, China's exports to ASEAN reached 936.62 billion yuan, an increase of 2.8%, and imports from ASEAN reached 759.86 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6%, both higher than the overall growth rate of national foreign trade imports and exports during the same period.
Gao Feng pointed out that China and ASEAN countries have strong economic complementarities. For a long time, the countries concerned have exerted their respective advantages, and economic cooperation in the region has deepened. In particular, since the establishment of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, the two parties have continuously expanded market opening, continued to promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, and deepened cooperation in the supply chain of the industrial chain.
